"In my area most mums don't understand why I am so different, and critise me for being 'too attached'. I was about to wean my one year old, but after the talk we had at playgroup, I changed my mind, I am thinking breastfeeding him at least until two. Yesterday he accidentally injured himself, he was bleeding badly and when I took him to the medical centre, he was screaming and wouldn't let the doctor exam him. I put my nipple in his mouth, he calmed down quickly. I was so grateful that I didn't wean him off! Thanks for changing my mind." (Ruby, mother of 1)

Inner West & Beyond runs two Attachment Parenting Playgroups in Sydney - one in Newtown and the other in Homebush.
We use the yahoo forum listed above to arrange meeting days, times and locations. While some 'conversations' happen on the forum, we try to keep it mainly for logistical arrangements. Most members are also members of the forum Sydney Attachment Parenting, which is where people can go for online support.
